Poetry Day - Cosmic Collisions

Comet The History ChannelĀ  does so fear
Countless comets far and near.
What if a comet comes too near*
To us on Earth where here is here?

WE WILL ALL GOING TO DIE!
If not now, then in 100 million years
WE WILL ALL DIE!
Drink up all your beer.

* = “Near” rhymes with “near.” So does “DIE!” with “DIE!” You can look it up.

Sweden - The Forgotten Superpower

SwedenNot many people remember the days when Sweden was a superpower. But back in the mid 1600s to about 1700 its prestige and military might exceded that of Russia and Germany. It’s armies ranged victoriously all over Germany, Poland, the Baltic Statics, Ukraine, and Finland.

Then Sweden was forgotten by the rest of the world except for a brief spurt, when it gained brief acclaim at bachelor parties for its new style of movies. Other than that, nothing.

Well, not quite nothing as the taste-loving Swedes turned their considerable military talents into perfecting that most wondrous of party and elegant-party foods, the Swedish meatball. Well done, my Nordic brethren. You have made the world a safer, tastier place.

And let’s not forget the Germans who threw aside their world-war starting tendencies in favor of exporting good German Beer. Let’s raise a stein and drink to world piece.

What food would the Iranians make them peace-lovin’, food exportin’ bunch of happy-go-lucky chefs?
